Make marketing fun again

It all started with a Tweet…ok so that’s the romantic version, but “Nobody wants to see how the sausage is made. And yet, Marketing teams still have to deliver” does at least capture the feeling behind my new project, Works, which I started building last year.

Works was built out of a desire to solve a problem aka the genesis of all good startups. Previously, I’ve been part of marketing teams for some of the world’s most exciting Technology brands, both at product and corporate level. It was a great learning experience!

That said, it was obvious internally at those brands that there was a big problem planning, managing and executing marketing campaigns. The result: marketing got kinda boring. Sound familiar?

Frameworks and Differentiation

It wasn’t that colleagues didn’t have the skills — they just didn’t have the right tools, nor the method, to juggle the additional workload. They were disorganized, making mistakes, and missing deadlines.

I think aside from disorganization, there’s also a feeling of disillusion among marketers. We’re seeing many become risk averse, copying others and generally feeling subject to the various political or socioeconomic forces that make marketing dull and boring.

Whether you’re a small business or a huge corporation, marketing is about differentiating your brand, product and service in the marketplace. To do that you need the creative ideas but you also need frameworks and tools.

Supporting Creative Marketing

That’s where Works aims to support creative Marketing teams; whether you’re a planner, project manager, social media, PR, creative or brand owner. With the website (and soon mobile app)! you can set tasks, manage projects, sync files and calendars with ease.

P.S. – Thanks for reading, and considering Works. You can contact me directly if you have any questions at [email protected]. Look forward to hearing from you!
